Public access grassland

There is an area of grassland on Abbey Farm that is open for permissive public access:

• The area has a pond and stream, plants like Cowslip, Ragged Robin and Common Spotted Orchid, a selection of common butterflies, dragonflies and breeding amphibians. Marsh Tit can be seen in neighbouring woodland (not open for access)
• You can reach this via Flitcham sports field, which is south of Abbey Road (off to the right, about 300m from the B1153) – postcode PE31 6BT, OS ref TF73032662
• Do NOT drive on the football pitch and keep off the whole sports field area in wet conditions (cars have been known to get stuck here)
